MAGDALENA (MADELINE) MARIA DREXLER January 16, 1927 September 30, 2009 It is with heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of Madeline, beloved wife, mother and Nana. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Karl; daughters, Eleanor (Dennis), Miriam; grandchildren, Karla (Marc), Andrea, Paul, Derek (Alyssa), Erika; great-granddaughters, Emily, Hailey and cats, Luna and Bootie. Madeline was born in Kikinda, of the former Yugoslavia. After the war she met her husband, Karl in Germany. In 1953, they immigrated to Canada. Madeline and Karl were married for over 56 years. Madeline was happiest devoting her time to her garden; her baking and Christmas cookies were eagerly awaited every year, and she was always up for a game of Parcheesi or Yahtzee with her grandchildren. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the Paramedics, as well as the medical and support staff of Concordia Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care in her final days. Prayers and visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery at 1 Green Acres Lane on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., with celebrant Fr. Pierre Wood. Interment will follow. Nana, you will be missed greatly by all of us. We were blessed to have you in our lives. May you rest in heavenly peace. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery 1 Green Acres Lane, Springfield (204) 222-3241 Hwy #1 East inside the Perimeter at Winnipeg Condolences may be sent to: www.greenacresmemorial.com
